Our Mission

The Downtown Vacaville Business Improvement District is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit business-based assessment district. Our mission is to activate Downtown Vacaville and support its vibrant economy. Whether you’re a local resident, a visitor, or a business owner looking to start or expand your operations, our downtown district has something for everyone.

Our History
The Downtown Vacaville BID’s roots go back to 1992, when the Downtown Vacaville Business Association, a volunteer organization of business owners and stakeholders, was formed. In 1999, the city council passed an ordinance establishing the BID as a .25-mile district encompassing roughly 7 by 6 blocks. Since then, we have earned recognition for preserving and enriching Downtown Vacaville through beautification, placemaking, and supporting local businesses.

At the core of our organization are five main areas of focus: Marketing and Promotions, Events, Economic Development, Capital Improvement, and Tourism Promotion.

We are committed to improving the district’s overall image, attracting businesses and jobs, enhancing the physical environment, and promoting tourism in Downtown Vacaville.

In addition to our main focus areas, we also advocate for various services such as maintenance, parking and transportation improvements, additional security measures, assistance for homeless individuals, and capital improvements like street lights and public art. We strive to make Downtown Vacaville a safe, clean, and inviting place for everyone.

One of our proudest achievements is organizing some of Vacaville’s most cherished and exciting events. These events attract thousands of locals and visitors to our district each year.

More than just highlights on the calendar—they are vibrant celebrations that showcase the diversity and spirit of our downtown businesses and play a crucial role in driving economic growth and enhancing the community.
