🪽 Farewell to Touch the Sky ✨
After spending the past year welcoming visitors to Downtown Vacaville, it`s time to say goodbye to Touch the Sky by renowned artist Martin Taylor.
Standing proudly at the Main Street entrance to Andrews Park, this stunning sculpture quickly became one of Downtown`s most recognizable landmarks. From daytime strolls to its beautiful glow after sunset, Touch the Sky inspired countless photos, conversations, and memories.
Thank you to everyone who stopped to admire it, snapped a photo beneath its wings, or made it part of your Downtown experience.
While we`re sad to see it go, we`re excited for what`s next! Stay tuned as a brand-new public art installation prepares to make its debut in Downtown Vacaville.

What you`re looking at is earthquake damage in Downtown Vacaville.
In 1892, an earthquake shook Vacaville and Elmira, causing significant damage to downtown buildings. Fortunately, there was no loss of life, but walls collapsed, chimneys fell, and business owners faced the challenge of rebuilding.
Among the businesses located at Main and Dobbins Streets was Crystal Bros. Dry Goods. Through historic photographs and surviving records, we can still catch a glimpse of the people, businesses, and buildings that helped shape Downtown Vacaville more than a century ago.
Today, the corner looks very different, but its story is still part of our community`s history.
